Rahim Ali, the former ECB Young Coach of the Year, brings a wealth of experience to the world of cricket coaching. From nurturing grassroots talent to contributing at the international level, his dedication to the sport is evident.
Rahim has played a pivotal role in guiding players like Rehan Ahmed from their early days to becoming established international cricketers. Beyond technical coaching, he also serves as a mentor to numerous professional players, offering invaluable insight and support.
His career is marked by numerous accolades, having led teams to victory in leagues and tournaments at both grassroots and international franchise levels. Most recently, Rahim’s expertise took him to the US Masters with the New York Warriors, where he worked alongside some of cricket’s greatest legends — a testament to his standing in the coaching world.
One of Rahim’s standout achievements was winning the inaugural Afghanistan Premier League with a star-studded squad, including the likes of Chris Gayle and Colin Munro. His experience also spans the English first-class circuit, where he contributed significantly at Leicestershire CCC, as well as in various cricketing environments across Pakistan.
In addition to his franchise and international work, Rahim has made a remarkable impact on youth development. As the head coach of Loughborough College’s cricket academy, he has led the team to multiple regional and national championship titles, both indoors and outdoors. His leadership has solidified the academy’s reputation as a leading institution for young cricketers.
The roots of Rahim’s coaching career trace back to the Andrew Flintoff Cricket Academy at Derby College. Over his four-year tenure, he guided the academy to several regional and national triumphs, laying the foundation for his future success.
Now, Rahim embarks on his next chapter as the founder of Next Generation, a groundbreaking academy that brings together renowned international coaches. With a clear vision to mentor and nurture emerging talent, the academy is dedicated to helping the next wave of cricketers achieve their dreams.
